Honey Bee Swarming

Honey Bees swarm as a natural means of reproduction and expansion of the species.  Encountering a bee swarm for the first time can be alarming. Bees tend to swarm near their hives, so if a swarm is visible then a colony is probably nearby. Swarms are usually not aggressive unless provoked, so it is important to keep a good distance from the swarm. If the bees feel threatened, they will release a phermones to alert the other bees of a threat resulting in a bee attack.

If you have a swarm please leave it a lone and call us at 314-852-1500

Bee swarms can almost always be collected alive and relocated by our  beekeeper.  Do NOT spray a swarm, that will cause them to become agitated and they will spread out over a large area making removal impossible.
